Best AI meal planner apps in 2026
· Reviewed by the Fiytt Editorial Team
An AI meal planner builds a week of meals from your calorie and macro targets, diet and food preferences, so you do not have to plan by hand. This guide compares eight apps, from dedicated planners to trackers with planning or AI logging, using each vendor's own pages, checked October 2026. We make Fiytt, so we say plainly where it is weaker.
Key takeaways
- Dedicated planners such as Eat This Much and Prospre list grocery lists and pantry features. Trackers such as MyFitnessPal and MacroFactor are strongest at logging, not planning.
- Fiytt builds weekly plans from real foods with set portions, solved to your calorie and macro targets, and keeps them next to your food diary. It is weaker on grocery lists and recipe variety than the dedicated planners.
- Nutrition apps give general guidance, not medical advice. If you have a medical condition or a history of disordered eating, work with a qualified professional.
- Prices are shown only where we could read them on an official page, with currency and period.
How did we choose these AI meal planner apps?
We included apps that either generate meal plans from targets or are commonly used alongside a planner. The order is alphabetical and not a popularity ranking. We label each app as a planner or as a tracker so you can compare like with like.
| Criterion | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Meal plans from targets | Does the app generate a plan from your calories and macros? |
| Preferences | Diet style, allergies and foods you dislike |
| Grocery list | Turns the plan into a shopping list |
| Food logging | Can you log what you actually ate? |
| Price | Free tier and paid plans, where verified |
Which are the best AI meal planner apps?
1Eat This Much
A dedicated planner. You choose a diet, calorie target and meals per day and it generates a plan; setting macro minimums needs a free account. It has a virtual pantry, automatic grocery lists with Instacart and AmazonFresh ordering, and web, iOS and Android apps. Premium adds weekly planning with leftovers and family scaling. Strongest here for planning and groceries; it is not a full training app.
2Fiytt
Builds weekly meal plans from real foods with set portions, matched to your calorie and macro targets, diet and allergies, with a minimum energy floor. Plans sit next to a food diary with barcode, label, voice and photo logging, plus workouts and Apple Watch. Coaches can also assign meal plans. Fiytt does not list a grocery-list or pantry feature, so it is weaker than Eat This Much or Prospre there.
3Fitia
Its site describes personalized meal plans and an automatic meal planner built around your calorie and macro targets, tied to Premium. It offers apps on iOS and Android plus a website, and lists several languages. Worth a look if you want a planner in Spanish or Portuguese as well as English.
4Lifesum
Offers meal plans and diets such as Mediterranean, fasting and keto, and logs meals by photo, voice, typing or barcode, with watch syncing. Its site does not state a price in the page we read. A good pick for a polished everyday tracker with plans.
5MacroFactor
A nutrition tracker rather than a meal planner. Its site and listings describe AI food logging from photos and weekly adjustments to your macro plan; we did not find a meal-planning feature described. A strong choice if adaptive targets matter more than a generated menu.
6MyFitnessPal
A food logger. Its Premium page lists barcode and meal scanning, Voice Log and macro tracking, but not a meal planner. In October 2026 the page showed 49.99 euros per year or 9.99 euros per month, with a 7-day trial. Choose it for its large food database, not for planning.
7Prospre
A meal planning and macro tracking app that generates plans from calorie and macro targets, diet and restrictions. It has barcode and label scanning, a Fit Into Plan option for treats, grocery lists with Instacart or Amazon Fresh ordering and AI Coach suggestions. Its site says it is free to download and use, with an optional premium upgrade.
8Samsung Food
A recipe and meal planning app. Its App Store listing shows weekly meal planning with shopping lists, and nutrition goals for free. Samsung Food+ adds AI-personalised weekly meal plans and nutrition tracking. Best for recipe collecting and family planning.

How should you choose?
First work out your numbers with the [TDEE calculator](/tdee-calculator) and [macro calculator](/macro-calculator). Then pick a planner that can hit them, and test it for a week. Check three things: does the plan respect your allergies, can you swap foods easily, and do you want to log meals in the same app?
Plans are a starting point. If your weight does not move as expected, adjust your calories rather than the plan format. To see how Fiytt builds plans, read the [AI meal planner](/features/ai-meal-planner) and the [all-in-one fitness app](/features/all-in-one-fitness-app) pages.
About this comparison
We make Fiytt, so we have a conflict of interest. We used the same criteria for every app, ordered them alphabetically, and took competitor facts only from each vendor's official site, help center or App Store listing. We did not test every app ourselves. Last updated 24 October 2026; facts checked October 2026.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best AI meal planner app?
It depends on what you need. Eat This Much and Prospre list grocery lists, Samsung Food suits recipes and families, and Fiytt keeps plans beside a food diary and workouts. Test one for a week against your own calorie and macro targets.
Can AI create a meal plan for my macros?
Yes. Apps such as Eat This Much, Prospre, Fitia and Fiytt generate plans from calorie and macro targets. Check the plan against your own numbers, and see a registered dietitian if you have a medical condition.
Are AI meal planners free?
Many have a free tier with limits. Eat This Much and Samsung Food have free base plans, and Prospre says it is free to download and use. Some features, such as more meal plans or AI-personalised plans, need a subscription.
Is there an AI meal planner that also tracks workouts?
Fiytt combines weekly meal plans, a calorie and macro diary, workout logging and Apple Watch in one app. Dedicated planners such as Eat This Much focus on meals, so you would pair them with a separate workout tracker.
Do AI meal planners make grocery lists?
Some do. Eat This Much, Prospre and Samsung Food list grocery or shopping lists. Fiytt does not list a grocery-list feature at the moment, so it is weaker there.
How accurate are AI meal plans?
They are estimates built on food databases and your calorie target. Portions, brands and cooking methods change real intake. Track your weight and energy for two or three weeks, then adjust your calories instead of trusting any plan blindly.
Can a meal planner replace a dietitian?
No. Meal planners give general nutrition guidance. If you are pregnant, under 18, managing a medical condition or have a history of disordered eating, work with a qualified professional.
